At the age of six she lost her mother, a younger sister, and a younger brother. Life with a cruel step mother was a nightmare. Elece spend most of her lonely years in prayer Elece forges she writing from her personal experience living as a shepherd girl, experiencing the Chimurenga war in Zimbabwe and survived. Elece has a vivid understanding of life in Zimbabwe infused with life in the Western world. Her writing takes through a journey of experiences filled with laughter, tears, and lessons.

If this event didn’t happen to us, we wouldn’t know what it meant, so through her sharing we can experience how it felt to be in that situation and she did a great job to express it and make you living it through all those emotions!

This book truly shares the many circumstances and emotions that the author felt but also resonates in my heart. I guess this is what it means the humanity in us. We may be different folks of color, nationality and creed but we share values that are intrinsic and universal. I specially love the poem "This is not my home". (Part III, 001). It speaks of the life most of us are living. Well, i hope we can live in our own home where true love is at the center. Happy reading
